I have been using Gameex for the last 2 years & i have started setting up atomicfe this frontend in the last year has nice plug & play features etc, my only gripe would be I wish the frontend more just generic mame displays, it has a lot of girls(not that im againest that) but my kids play the cab a lot, It would be nice to have more choices with just general characters from the games donkey kong, dragons liar, pacman etc, just my 2 cents...

im a hardware person, building, fixing computers etc but im not a software person except for basics installing windows etc, does anyone offer this service

As it so happens, I do. I usually make skins for MaLa, but I can probably squeeze you in.

It pretty much does everything AtomicFe does. I've tried them all and for my particular needs, MaLa fit the bill. It plays videos, but the videos cannot be under any other graphic element - which means my popular "blue" layout doesn't work with videos. The Alien Dashboard layout was designed with videos in mind. There are of course other layouts to choose from and I made a special layout for a user here in about 20 minutes.

Did you check my Download page? or the screenshot page? There are more than 50 layouts and only few have girl on it.
Some are very popular with children.

AtomicFE does lot of more than mala in term of layout. And of course you can have videos where you want.

But let me know what you would like , i will do a layout specific for your need.

#edit: look that thread , there is a specific module and layout i did for one member here.

would it be to much trouble to get one with a red background & just the various game characters from all of the years, donkey kong, pacman, joust, dragons liar, smashtv etc, just a generic with the different characters

It should work with any skinable FE. You just need to put your list and snapshot windows in the appropriate places.

That art is amazing, would easy to make it into a mamewah layout too. Of course you'd have to be cool with it.

I wish it was. No, it's some wall paper I found somewhere. It's part of an advertisement for Wii, I think. I just put a couple of overlays on it for the menus. Everyone use it, please!

Ok , i made a very simple layout for AtomicFe based on this image , can be found on my Download page.

Feel free to modify it.

GameCreature would you have the image without the overlays? I could do something very better if i had it. (not that your overlays are bad!.. just because Atomic don't need overlays to do that kind of effect , and i could find some animation to add , and other things)

that looks great, if its not to much trouble a couple of animations would be awesome, I'm impressed with the time you take on your FE, with the plug & play modules you have made I could see this becoming easily the dominant FE

Divemaster : Thanks. I can not take the time i would like on my FE. If it was the case, it would be already the dominant FE.

But that something i do when i have time. And i'm too busy unfortunaly. But i try to do my best.

I'm going to see if i can put some animation somewhere.

I'd have you eating bar-bq ribs and smoked brisket before you knew what happened.
It would be nice if we could all just do what we love to do with out the adult responsibilities.

Also many in Texas eat fried frog legs

You know what you call French Fries , it is not really French , it is more a speciality from Belgium.

French toast, i'm not sure it is really french too...

In fact , each time i go to the U.S i try something called "French" something it is never really French.

Except may be the French Kiss...

That's ok. I lived in Germany for 3 years and saw a lot of stuff labeled "American" throughout Europe that wasn't even close.

It appears to be a universally perpetrated societal ailment.
