Yes, a computer emulation of the original hardware, displayed on a raster monitor, controlled by a homemade controller, will be exactly the same as an original set of controls on an original game.  :dizzy:

They're working on a very nice looking repro yoke- they're not ready yet, but they have stated that they will be selling the parts individually, and some of the parts are already available.  You might contact them to see if you can score some gears.  Darned if I know how much they'll be charging, though.

I wanted teh 2.1:1 ratio, but the store was out of 2 sets, so being impatient after looking off and on for 3 months for the gears, went for the 2.3:1 ratio.  Two sets cost me $15 + tax.  The are just about perfect size for using on the home depot lamp rod used in the tutorial.  I plan on documenting my build process well, I'll keep everyone posted once I have more to show.
