Methods to secure CP to CP box
Zinfari:
I know there is a thread already going on how to secure your CP to your cab, but I was wondering what folks are doing to secure the CP top to the rest of the CP. I know peolpe have mentioned a number of methods and I was just wondering wat type of experience people are having with each method. (i.e. I tried this, but it just wasn't secure enough, or this is what I did and it's rock solid, etc.) I'm hoping we see a number of responses here as some methods may not work for everyone.
Thanks,

Well I have mine hinged for now.. :D
I have a large 4 player CP though.. so the weight of the top is just about enough to keep it shut.. it's not going anywhere unless you lift it..
Purchased some foam strips (for weatherproofing windows/doors) to put inbetween the top of the cp and the bottom.. so that when it's closed.. it provides a little better fit as the foam will compress/expand in case the fit isn't perfect.. also it will reduce the wood wear because it won't be rubbing together as much..
the foam weatherstripping has tape on the back end of it.. you just peel and place :D

Snaaake I'm looking for methods of connecting the CP top (joysticks are attached to this piece) with the CP box (that you would then connect to the cab via a method like you mentioned in your post. Some folks have used hinges, others bolts with wood inside. I'm just trying to figure out what the options are or if someone has come up with something really cool that the rest of us haven't thought of (or at least something I haven't thought of.) :)

I used L brackets and carriage bolts with wingnuts...
people have used velcro.
people have used friction, by using little wooden spacers that "wedge" the box between them (and gravity holds it down)
1up uses baby-safe latches somewhere on his (I had thought of doing this before but ended up not needing to)
people use the arcade clamps/latches thingies that were discussed in the other thread.
uhm... hinges were already discussed... window pane latches.. check...
I think that's all the types i've seen browsing the examples, in the past...
