I really like the velcro idea. Do you think the heat from the drives makes the glue get gooey.

I don't think so... at least not yet. I'm not finished but I have had it running for at least 2 hours during one stretch of software tweaking and didn't notice any problems. It's cool as a cucumber in there ... or something. Check out currygoat's cocktail here: http://home.comcast.net/~currygoat55/ I've been using his website as a reference guide while building mine - he gave me the idea for the velcro... although he does mount the hard drive using an old Xbox jewel case... hmm...

I bought some metal rails, meant for adding a harddrive into a 5.25" drive bay.

Get some pipe strapping. You can bend it to fit your drives and it's got holes all over the stuff so you can even throw a screw and a washer in on the side to keep it all together, then screw it down to a side or the bottom of the cocktail. Here's a pic of what the stuff looks like, and it'll prolly be sold in the plumbing or electrical department of your local hardware store.

That's the same stuff I used - for my drives and power supply. Works great!

This is funny because I have tons of this stuff left over from hanging new gas pipe undrer my house.
First time I didnt have to buy something.
I think I will use the srew and washer deal to hook up the drive to the metal strap then velcro the metal strap to the cab.
Thanks guys.
