I'm going to create my cabinet and I want to use different emultors: Mame, Zinc, Pj 64, Stepmania ecc..I decided to use Mamewah as frontend but I've to choose the 1.61 or 1.62 version...any ideas? |

I would always go with the latest version as it usually fixes a lot of bugs. Especially knowing that MameWah 1.62 is up to offering a beta "11" release, I would not recommend sticking with v1.61 Jusy my opinion though. |

[/too lazyto read the "whats new" file] what are some reasons many are upgrading? New features that you gotta have? |

No idea ..... I think people say it is easier to set up. I never used 1.61 so I can not say what is new. Based on your first post, it made me think you were installing MameWah for the first time, rather than upgrading MameWah. If I was installing something for the first time, I would simply use the latest version. If I was upgrading (and it might be a pain to do so) then I would decide whether it was worth it based on the "whats new" file. |

go with 1.62 it is certainly easier to set up than 1.61 (additionally, I found the 1.61 --> 1.62 conversion a little tedious and painful) also, 1.62 has some features that, if they existed in 1.61, I never knew it... execution of pre-launch and post-launch applications, for instance. In 1.61, if I needed something to run before or after my emulator, I had to stick it all in a batch file, which got ugly and didn't always work as expected. With apps like AutoHotKey, I can easily launch scripts to catch and translate keypresses, etc... and the pre-execution launch makes this a breeze. |
