Bands that sing songs about arcade stuff

allroy1975:
I'm not talking your Buckner & Garcia or Neskimos or Mini Bosses.

I'm talking about bands who sing cool songs that are about video games or pinball or whatever.  I always like it when I find a band like that.

Here are a few examples:
Marble- BK2K (Black Knight 2000) Williams Pinball, great song about him and his buddies hanging out at the laundry mat playing BK2K

The Pettit Project has a song called 99 Lives about how he's trying to get a girl and she's like a video game and he keeps trying and needs a stragagy guide cuz girls make no sense...got a lot of classic nintendo stuff in it

I was glad to see Mario make an appearance in International Gamers Commitee (IGC)

I'm done making threads about what a dork I am for the day...but do you guys know any good arcade related songs like these?

AtomSmasher:
I've always liked the song "Little Mac's Confession" about the game Punch-Out

AtomSmasher:
Wierd Al's new song is great and is kind of about a video gamer, although its really just about a pathetic nerd:
you can get it here:http://media.thechrispirilloshow.com/mp3/yourepitiful.mp3
here: http://www.weirdalforum.com/private/yourepitiful.mp3
or a dozen other places linked from here: http://www.weirdal.com/

This song probably will not be on Wierd Al's next album because of legal reasons, which is why he made it free to download.

danny_galaga:

well, since we are in a retro world here, what about the aussie band Mi Sex- computer games? you probably havent heard it, but its from the 80s so you might like it

allroy1975:
but I'm not talking about old bands necessarily, I'm talking about people who are around our age who are now writing songs with all kinds of video game references in them.  Another Pettit Project song says something like "I'm a Dreamcast, and he's Atari.  and I'm a dork for even using that analogy".  We grew up with/on this stuff.  It's only natural that it would influence other stuff.  like I Am 8 Bit.

AtomSmasher, I've been whisteling that damn mike tyson song for the whole weekend.  :)
