Is there a reason to get a 2 slot coin door over a 1 slot coin door?

Doom bucket:
Most of the time when I go to arcades I see broken coin slots, with paper covering the doors... And a little note saying to use the different slot. In that setting, it makes complete sense to have multiple slots in the coin door.

But in my home, where it's only going to get as much use as I use it, is there a reason I'm not thinking of to get one with two slots instead of just one?

Personally, I feel that a 2 coin slot door looks better.

For home use, some games require a coin be dropped in a specific slot - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rampage, Gauntlet, Final Fight, Double Dragon etc. If you have a 4 player cabinet - you'll want a 4 player coin door in addition - each player could need a their own credit buttons.

I just wanted to point out that the 2 player version of TMNT does not have the specific slot requirement (you can therefore use it on a one slot machine).  The credit goes to the first player to hit their start button.  I have a 2 player ROM set on my TMNT board and have verified this by playing it on (of all things) a DDR machine.

If you have a 4 player cab, then yes, multiple slots are a very good idea since many 4 player games have a slot assigned to each player.

Hey your the guy that wants to put a mini fridge into your cab, how are you planning on putting a coin door in with a fridge in there taking up space?

On the coin door, I would go with a 2 coin door they do look better.

I plan on using the two coin slot door and taping over one of the slots just for the authentic arcade feel...
