WOW!... I was bored and I figured I'd just check to see if there were any replies in this thread.  Well, you people are a skeptical bunch aren't you?   :)  I'm not sure if I should be insulted or just laugh because it's actually kind of funny to see the paranoia I've drawn out.  :P  Nah, I'll laugh... life's too short to take things personally.  It's okay, I'm used to it from forums that I actually do frequent (www.604z.com, www.twinturbo.net), and a healthy dose of paranoia is a good thing when you're online.

Allow me to allay your fears...

- No, it's not a scam.  Just a generous Canuck trying to do something  nice .
- Yes I am really giving away ONE joystick.  That's it, nothing else.
- I have been in contact with 5 or 6 people from this forum, the first one who replied is getting it. (He was fast!)
- If it were a scam, the other people wouldn't have been turned down.  I could give away an infinite amount of vapourware.
- The joystick ships out tomorrow.
- Yes it's really FREE.  The recipient only pays for shipping.
- No, I haven't asked for any money yet, and won't do so until after he has received it.
- If he doesn't pay for whatever reason (or I forget), no big deal.  I can eat the 10 bucks or so.
- Yes I'm a noob here and I admit that my post may have sounded like a scam of some sort.  I don't own, build, or service arcade games.  I only ended up here because of Google.  Actually, I joined a different forum first but it turned out to be an Atari console site so posting the "ad" there would have been a waste of their time and mine.  This was the next site that I found.  I have no idea if it's "the" arcade site, but it'll get the job done from my perspective.  Here's the deal: I'm doing some serious spring cleaning and this item has been in a box for over 15 years, moving with me from one house to the next.  I figure if I haven't used it yet after all those years, I'm not likely to use it ever.  But, being from an electronics background, I have to respect a nice piece of hardware like this, especially one that's probably pretty rare by now.  I just can't bring myself to throw it in the garbage.
- The joystick didn't cost me anything.  When I was in college, a classmate (who DID service arcade games) gave me the WICO, along with a bunch of boards (Zaxxon, Defender, Joust... can't remember the rest).  I don't know where the boards went (and don't care, as long as they're not lurking in one of my closets), but this joystick has lingered in my closet long enough.
- And by the way, no... I don't have any ECKSBOX 359's in a warehouse that I'm selling cheap.  But I do have some oceanfront property for sale in Arizona.  ;)

Thanks to those who replied to my offer, and to everyone else... thanks for the entertaining comments.  I've always wanted to be the ringleader of an internet scam. :)  I may check back here a couple more times just for the fun of it, but I won't become a regular.  The admin can feel free to nuke my account whenever he/she wants; my work here is done.

Happy gaming everyone,
Rich

P.S. Kremmit, I just noticed your avatar.  COOL!  I actually have some of those little wind-up robots somewhere (both gold and silver).  And no, you can't have them!
