| MameWAH - screen blacking out |

Hi, I've been working on getting a new arcade cab running in my office waiting room. I had MAME32 v0.87 working fine (I couldn't get the trackball working in v1.06), but the interface isn't ideal for a public waiting room. So I got MameWAH along with MAME v0.87. I think I have everything configured properly, and I am happy with the interface... very clean and tamper resistent. I messed around with it for about an hour, testing games and so forth, without any problems. Today was the first time we had patients using the machine. Every time I went to check on things, the screen was blank. I could hear sounds, but I couldn't do anything... including exit. I had to alt-tab to get out of it. I thought it might be a problem with the screensaver, so I checked to make sure there were no power saving options enabled in Windows... and I verified that the MameWAH screensaver was working properly (set at 300 sec). It comes on fine and starts cycling through snap screens. I am running Win98SE on an AMD Sempron 2400+ PC with 128MB RAM. Any idea on what could be causing this? Thanks edit: using MameWAH 1.61 |

Sounds like a autodosbox safelaunch type of issue. Check your .ini with the one at JCrouse's website. If you search for his name, he has a link in his profile. It also appears that in the situation you are using it in, that mala may be a good alternative. |
