i got the same onces..starfire..IF you have a rumble pack for dreamcast then you CAN have recoil on these guns..i know about those liksang guns(they look cool) but I just wanted to play and its all good.. :)

About steering wheels..i do not know how these can be hacked BUT you can always get the logitech steering wheels for ps2 then use converter so you can use the same one for dreamcast..the logitech steering wheel is awsome.. !. ;D

but the quests...

1) How many of the neomi games where ported?  Most?  How are the ports?

--- End quote ---

Lots of Naomi ports (lots of import versions)...more than you can shake a stick at.

--- Quote from: Lilwolf on March 08, 2003, 11:33:48 am ---2)  Has anyone successfully hacked an analog controller yet?  I'm not sure if I can go for their steering wheels on a cabinet...

--- End quote ---
Yes, you can hack to a normal 8-way, but there aren't many games that require only analog.

--- Quote from: Lilwolf on March 08, 2003, 11:33:48 am ---3)  How many games require/need an analog joystick for games?

--- End quote ---
Not many...mostly sports games (ones you probably wouldn't play in a cabinet anyway), outside of that, only Jet Grind Radio.

--- Quote from: Lilwolf on March 08, 2003, 11:33:48 am ---4)  Can you do a button out that will work well for most games?  (ie, is there any button layouts that work well where all buttons are accessable by only one hand).

--- End quote ---
I use the following layout (works great for all DC and MAME games I've ever played).  Start with a six button cluster, standard spacing, then two more buttons off the left going down in an arc (for thumb and index finger).   I usually only use those 4 buttons, and switch to the others per game (like SF for 6 buttons. PM me if you want a picture.

--- Quote from: Lilwolf on March 08, 2003, 11:33:48 am ---5)  Hate to say it... but I'm a little worried about access to software since they aren't producing any.  Anyone having trouble getting cds for them?  How about cdrs?

--- End quote ---
Every US dc game ever released is on ebay.  Still lots left in Gamestop/Software Inc/EB.  All dirt cheap.

Not many games force you to use analog..i mean baseball games requires analog but ya really wanna play baseball with arcade stick..pretty much useless.
Other that that..EVERY game I can think of uses digital(thats are supposed to be played with an arcade stick).

I'd have to partially disagree here, about half the games need analog.

If it was an arcade port, then you won't need an analog stick (unless the arcade had an analog input, of course ;P ).  Example: Soul Calibur doesn't need an analog.

However,
If it was a platfrom game, you problaby will need analog.  Sonic Adventures 1 & 2, Ecco the Dolphin, & Toy Commander, for example, need the analog stick.
If it was a sports games, 50-50 you need analog.  Sega Sports NHL and NFL need analog, while Virtua Tennis does not.
All driving games should need an analog input (the steering wheel).

So it really depends which games you want to play.

Quick rule of thumb: if the game has the "Arcade Stick" compatable icon, no need for analog; if it doesn't have that icon, either you need analog or it should have that icon.

 ???

Well world series baseball requires you to use analog and its no arcade port.MOST arcade ports DONT need any analog.Games like marvel vs capcom 2,capcom vs snk 2,mars martix, power stone and others wont force you to use analog anyways. :P

WOW! Dreamcast... I can say I love my Dreamcasts as I love my MAME cab. I have collected 10 VMUs, 7 controllers, 4 Dreamcasts and 100 and some-odd games. They make a PS/2 port thing to plug a keyboard of your choice into your Dreamcast, could I just plug my IPac into that? That should work. It would be sooo cool! I also have found some VERY rare games! I have this wonderful game called REZ, I have Ikaruga, I have Tokyo Bus Guide, and probably the wierdest I have JetSet Radio ( that is right, Set not grind! it is the same game, but the it is the  PAL version and it had a different name.) If anyone is interested in buying well... just about any Dreamcast game (I have most of them) just send me an E-Mail.
