Eygo 27" Owners, please help
« on: April 09, 2002, 01:02:05 pm »
Hey Y'all,

I just got my Eygo 27" from Closeouts USA.  What settings are you guys using in MAME, or which MAME are you using ?  Most of my games are too small on the screen or out of sync with the monitor.  Overall the monitor seems pretty cool.  Stretch doesn't seem to have an affect.

You need to go to OPtions-Default options-Advanced and check the box stretch using hardware.  If it is greyed out you can try to update directx.  I had to try a different video card to get it to work(Riva TNT2).  I couldn't get the ATI AIW radeon 7500 to work.  You have to make sure the display settings on your pc are 640X480 60Mhz.  You can adjust the properties of individual games by right-clicking the rom icon and changing the properties for that game.  You shouldn't use stretching for all games.

I'm using mame.exe (windows version).  I never change color depth or screen size and always use HWStretching.

Everything runs great with that.  I'm running with a Geforce2mx so the HWStreatching is great.

btw, it does handle 640x480, 320x200 and 320x240 so you do have some of the resolutions that are native.  But they don't make any difference in my mind when playing at 320x200 or 640x480 hwstretchin... so I stopped messing with the settings.

I initially set it to HW stretch by default, but my wife likes to play burgertime.  If you play burgertime with HW stretch on and then play it with stretch off there is a noticible difference.  That's why I set each game I play to the setting that looks better.
