Kid proof cab... Oil paint or laminate?

I know this has been done a million times, but I'm hoping for some opinions. I have 4 kids.. Enough said!! :)

I am debating over oil based paint using original oil kilz primer tinted black and rustoleom satin black or Wilson- Art vertical laminate (thinner to clear 3/4 T-Molding with 3/4 MDF).

After searching.... Paint is easier to repair...Yet Laminate is stronger, but harder to repair. Considering I have 4 "Captain Destructos'" Any last thoughts? Either way I am planning to add at least a 4" diamond plate kick panel to the front and sides.

Please help. Kids can't wait to play (or should I say test the strength) of the cabinet!  :)

Tahnok:

Real laminate will stand up better IMO. And by real I mean the expensive stuff that's 1/16" thick. Don't use pre-laminated board (melamine).

BobA:

I second the laminate.  It will stand up much better then an painted surface.

Santoro:

Also avoid lead paint.

Seriously though, laminate is the only way to go with small kids.  It is completely indestructable and easy to clean.  Or for a cheaper route try Partsexpress Speaker Vinyl.  It can be ripped but is washable.

MM,

You know where I stand on this one.  ;)
