I have the happs 3" trackball installed via ps/2 optiwiz, I have a ps/2 to usb adapter, the frontend recognizes the TB but not the actual games, I have read and searched and tried some of the advice given but nothing worked. I have the mouse set to 1 and for trackball_device I tried these options: -trackball mouse 1 mouse2 any help would be great, thanks I should mention that I have a usb mouse plugged in that is used in windows. here is my current mame.ini for input devices ### Input device options ### mouse 1 joystick 1 lightgun 0 dual_lightgun 0 offscreen_reload 0 steadykey 0 keyboard_leds 1 led_mode ps/2 a2d_deadzone 0.30 # ctrlr <NULL> (not set) paddle_device keyboard adstick_device keyboard pedal_device keyboard dial_device keyboard trackball_device keyboard lightgun_device keyboard digital none |

Did you plug the PS/2 Optiwiz into the PS/2 port (no usb adapter) to confirm that works? If so, why not plug it into the port it was made for? |

yeah it works, I just thought using usb may give me more options in the future and wanted to see if it would work. I actually got it to work in golden tee by going into the input settings for the game and setting the analog x and y to the trackball, i just hope I dont have to do this for every game. thanks |

Set it once and it will be fine. |
