What about that Surge protector that sensed when 1 item was turned on and it turned on everything else? I can't find the post or remember all the details, but it was posted here about a week ago...

i still need to test my TV's power off and on settings. I hope it remembers S-video and powers on after pulling the plug.

that's not answering my question though:)  Another way to do it would use a gigantic relay, but the point of this post was not listing ways, I was wondering if my observation is correct.
