Help me remember a game title! (I'm going nuts!)

I don't have a complete set of ROM's so i couldn't look through to find it. My memory is bad, but I so loved this game!

You fought dragons as bosses at teh end of each level

You had a sword and shield, maybe you got different swords as you progressed through the game?

you had to climb chains and avoid bats or fireballs as you neared the final boss

there were secret areas you could swing your sword at and the rocks would break apart revealing power-ups. 2 that i remember are:

1 at teh very beginning of the game you went left instead of right. There was a vertical cliff. you swing your sword and it opens up one block. swing again and it opens another block and there was a shield there

2 somewhere you are climbing up a rope/vine. you swing your sword to the left (another cliff) and it opened up to reveal another weapon or shield.


Sorry, I know that's sprse, but I remember the name was very difficult to read on the marquee. This game took all my quarters on a regular basis until I could finally get through on 1 quarter. Once you finished the game that was it.


Oh, i hope someone can help me out here.  I looked through KLOV but I dunno what it's called. Def. not Rygar...

sounds to me like Rastan, Rastan 2, or even Black Tiger.

yep, i'd say Black Tiger...possibly Rastan, but there is no secret on the first level of that..there is in Black Tiger.

Black Tiger! BLACK TIGER! OMG that's it! I have been trying to figure it out for the longest time! I love this game! Got to the point where I could get through the game with my first man. Time to do some diggin for that ROM... man, I'd just buy the game itself if i could find it somewhere...One of those games were it's worth it to me to have the original.

Aye, it's a great game. Whenever I hear most of the sounds from Black Tiger (like the shopping sounds where you get to spend all those 'zenny coins' or the fireball being hurled at you), I *swear* I can smell that particular burger joint downtown

Same thing with Rygar. Very simple melody, but incredibly mood setting.

So, can you still get through Black Tiger with just one man?

heheh not even close. But I will soon. I am trying VERY hard not to play many games until i finish my cabinet.
