Where to find +5 volts on Mad catz Dreamcast pad?

From heresay: The +5V in the pad is not enough to power the P360s properly, you need to get another +5V power source. (A 5 volt power adapter from Radio Shack should work)

I don't think its been confirmed yet. Also, I foresee possible problems using an external power source (since you will then be combining the grounds of the DC and external source).
