Yes exacto knife!
I think the router may tear it out. Man, thats some serious marquee cutting power!

My mistake. I saw mamemarquee, and I was thinking about my marquee which is backlit vinyl, I still think an exacto knife is the way to go. McCoy seems fine with the router.
Do what you want, but let us know how it goes.

I'm not knockin' the knife either. I've had mixed results with an exacto knife in the past on the overlay. That's why I mentioned the router. I hate when I give a statement opinion. :banghead: Makes me look like a :tool: .

I debated this same thing. I guess it would only make sense that you use a new bit as well, so that it is as sharp as possible. Go ahead, try it, and then make a post on the wiki so that you can help others!

I used a flush trim bit on my CPO from mamemarquees. My router is 1.5 hp (not that powerful).
I had the CPO between the MDF and the lexan (with the protective covering still on the lexan) when i used the router. It came out perfect.

I also used a flush trim router bit on my mamemarquees cpo.It worked great, very smooth cut.I didn't want to stick the cpo on the wood cp top as I recessed the trackball mounting plate and T-nuts I used for the joystick and spinner mounting and I did'nt want them to show through. So I stuck the cpo to a very thin (1/32") sheet of clear mylar, clamped the cpo and plexi panel in place over the cp and used a drill bit big enough to fit the flush trim router bit bearing through and finished off the holes.
