Sketchup is cool. I have a version 4 of Sketchup that I've used and, even though I'm no good with it, the new Google database of downloadable .skp files is a definitely plus. The downside is, that none of them work with my version of Sketchup. So I was going to download the new free version, but it looks like there is a free Google-version, but still a 'full Pro' $500 version. Is there any difference between the two? Is there any functionality that the free v5 doesn't have? I don't want to move from my 'full' version 4 to a 'free' version 5 if I'm going to lose something. Thanks qb |

I tried it, and did up a model of my house, fenced yard, future shed and front yard with driveway. Great little app this is. Real easy to use. As someone who is well-versed with 3D Studio Max, I'd rather use Sketch for quick 3D. It's way faster to build something with accurate dimensions than it is to do the same thing in 3DS Max. |
