| [Got, thanks JDShaffer :-)] WTTF: some DB-9 connectors |

Edit: I'll trade for some DB-9 connectors (one male, one female) my available trade list: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=49230.0 user 'dabone' helped explain the diagram, its much simpler than I thought, and I already have a regular serial cable which has a broken end, so I just need some DB-9 connectors now |

Are you just requesting that a serial cable (male/female) wire be cut in the middle and the 9 internal colored wires be soldered together to match your diagram? If so, then I guess you do not own a soldering tool ...... or perhaps you need the special "double-shielded" type serial cable? |

I wasnt completely sure of how to do it, or what the diagram meant.. Does it mean: just 4 wires are connected, 3 of which need diodes, and a few pins at each end are merged (?) [can those be merged for sure in the middle, or is there a possibility of the device needed them merged only at the ends?]. I thought it would be easier to trade for from someone who has made a custom serial cable before... and has spare parts, I dont have spare serial cables etc.. Im not sure if double shielding would be necessary or not (for a graphic tablet) |

Dude, shipping on the connectors is more than the cost. http://www.radioshack.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=2032285&cp=2032058.2032231&allCount=18&fbc=1&f=PAD%2FCable+Type%2F9-position&fbn=Cable+type%2F9-position Run to radio shack and grab a couple. Later, dabone |

I think the problem was not knowing how to intepret the diagram itself rather than not being able to find a serial cable. He mentioned "diodes" might need to be required ..... I am not sure how to read the diagram if diodes are required. I thought he wanted some wires connected from the male to female ends and that was it ..... |
