will paint my cab soon!

Nope. Just paint the sucker.... MDF paints real easy. The cut edges that show - like on your CP edges tend to soak up the paint quite a bit so sand them to a smooth finish and you won't have a problem.

I've had no problems painting MDF. I've always used a latex primer, then semi-gloss latex paint. I used thin coats and sanded between each coat, 2 coats of primer and 5 coats of paint, made for an extremely nice finish.

it HAS TO BE Hammerite for the black finish on your cab.

I did, I figured an extra bit of protection to keep moisture from getting in couldn't hurt and it wasn't much more work since I was already painting all the other pieces.
