CitznFish:
Just wanted to say hello. I rediscovered MAME and I am planning, planning, and planning to create a cabinet. Seems like there is more information here than I can possibly shift through. :) so many decisions... 17" monitor or 27" S-video TV (I have both at my disposal) DOS Mame or Mamew or Mame32 (PC is a 733Mhz PIII cheap-o 128bit Vid card running ME or XP if I upgrade) Build controls or buy Slick Stick CO2 (joysticks with fire buttons are a must!) Locate a cabinet or build one (not a carpenter but I inherited tons of wood working tools) This will be my first experience and I am probably trying to do too much for a first project, but oh well. I shall be combing the forums looking for tips and tricks. Cheers! -cf 8) |

Welcome aboard and enjoy the trip. There's a lot of good reading on these forums as well as in the FAQ. Cheers -cdbrown |

I would suggest you start with the faq and the examples pages. If you invest some time in researching and planning you will be much happier with the end result. Of course you might end up like many of us where our cabs are never done because somebody comes up with something new that needs to be added. |

soo true. There is waaay too much information. :P I made a FAQ to help me organize excellent reference articles. It's in the main forum. Even though I haven't even begun on my forst cabinet I amalready day dreaming about jukeboxes, cocktail cabs and countertop cabs. :) |
