As some who have edited articles might have noticed: the wiki is case sensitive. Not only that to add wikilinks in an article some titles aren't very convenient. Example:
The article "Arcade Monitors". While the capitalisation and use of plural does look nicer as title of an article it is very inconvenient if you want to wikilink to it. A wiki sentence would look like this: "Instead of a PC monitor you can also use an arcade monitor." To wikilink the "arcade monitor" part one would initially see this: "Instead of a PC monitor you can also use an Arcade Monitors." To correct the capitalisation and plural form of A.M. one can use this: arcade monitor. The first part is the actual name of the article, the second part (after the 'pipe' character) is the text you wish to see in the sentence.
This might be tedious when wikifying a lot of text. The wiki itself has a few features:
* it automatically capitalises the first character of a wiki article. arcade monitor leads to the article "Arcade monitor".
* it expands the link with the characters immediatly after the last bracket: arcade monitors shows up as arcade monitors in the wikitext but leads to "arcade monitor".
* the pipe method as described above to have alternative text "This software is cabfriendly." produces "This software is cabfriendly" and the link points to the correct article.
Now, there already is a lot of content in the wiki, so it is too much work to change all that. The wiki also has one feature: redirects. With a redirect you can automatically point to the right article content. For example I added the redirect "arcade monitor" to point to "Arcade Monitors". This makes is far easier to use "arcade monitor" in wikitexts.
A redirect page can be made like this, create a page with the 'source' name like you would with any other article. The content of that artcile would be:
#REDIRECT article of your choice
Now the page redirects to the article of your choice.
So when adding articles either keep the title in lowercase (except when uppercase is the convention like in "MAME" or a software title etc.) and singular. If you wish to make the article title different, in that case make a redirect to make life easier for other contributors.
