I just wrote a renamer for handling these. Poin to the included DAT file. Be aware that it requires the Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1. You can download it from microsoft's website. Also be aware that this was made for personal use and has no guarantees. Make a backup copy of your images before using it. It will do the snaps, titles and boxes. You must do each individually. It takes about one minute per group on my Athlon XP1900. You can get it here, http://www.emuchrist.org/cpviewer/nintendogameboyadvance.htm. It is listed as "GBA Image Renamer". Let me know what you think, John |

jcrouse Where did you get your DAT file? The Rom filenames in your DAT do not seem like they are named appropriately. The filenames include brackets [] with a bunch of text between them like the following: --- Quote ---0001 - F-Zero (JPN) [SRAM_V110] [32 MBit] 0002 - Super Mario Advance (JPN) [EEPROM_V111] [32 MBit] 0003 - Battle Network RockMan EXE (JPN) [SRAM_V110] [64 MBit] 0004 - Kuru Kuru Kururin (JPN) [SRAM_V110] [32 MBit] 0005 - Mr. Driller 2 (JPN) [SRAM_F_V100] [32 MBit] --- End quote --- Also they have (JPN) rather than (J), (EUR) rather than (E) which is not really like the GoodTools naming convention ... correct? Anyway, I did not use your tool since I did not want my Rom named this way. I attached a directory listing of my Rom filenames before the numbers were stripped off. I believe the naming of the Rom files in my list are more consistent with GoodTools. Here is what my filenames tend to look like: --- Quote ---0001 - F-Zero (J)(Independent) 0002 - Super Mario Advance (J)(Independent) 0003 - Battle Network Rockman EXE (J)(Eurasia) 0004 - Kuru Kuru Kururin (J)(Eurasia) 0005 - Mr. Driller 2 (J)(Capital) --- End quote --- Tell me what you think..... |

It is from the website where the images are. I agree that the names in the DAT file do not seem to match the Good Tools rom names. The utility simply converts the images to the standard that the website where the images are posted uses. John |

Nice work jcrouse! I was going to write a util to do this and release, but had a feeling you were on the job. Cheers. jcrouse: quick question, does your util check the crc and do the ROM renaming too, or do you have to use CLRMame to rename them? Nevermind, figured out you do need CLRMame but no big deal. |

Makes sense, however, I would not want to rename my Rom files to have that naming convention |
