Heads Up emumovies.com hijacked (Crisis Over website back up!)
(1/3) > >>
Circo:
Just in case anyone was wondering, while I was on a cruise last week my domain www.emumovies.com expired and was picked up by some junk domain company.  I am working with my service provider to see if they can get it back.  These guys are just straight up snakes as they want me to pay $200 to get my domain back.  Hopefully the site will be back up and running soon, but I am not paying $200.  I will post here when there is a change in status, but I do not intend to let it die.

Since my email and everything else is down also, anyone who would like to contact me can do so at circo0@yahoo.com

UPDATE*** The site is now back up at it's old address emumovies.com.  I won woohoo!
hnugz:
bah, sorry to hear that  :(
Circo:
Yeah and so far it is not sounding good, they did send me renewal emails but my spam filter on yahoo grabbed them.  So I may not have any recourse and paying $200 for something that is already an expense with no way to generate revenue is just distasteful to me.  So I am not sure what is going to happen.  I have learned much in my 1 year of having a website, and the new lesson is register a site for a minimum of 5 years.  It seems that this company www.enom.com had put themselves on a waiting list and the second that it expired they grabbed it up.  It doesn't seem right but it is perfectly legal.

Hopefully emumovies will be able to return, but at this point the future of the site is questionable.

Damn frustrating!
screaming:
I'll chip in some loot if you decide to go for it.

emmumovies has served a great purpose! How about rallying the community?
hnugz:
good idea but those ---daisies--- still win, see if you can get it back without that first  ;D
