Empire Carpet
« on: March 29, 2006, 09:56:01 am »
We recently had our basement finished, the only thing that's left is carpeting.  Does anyone have any experience with Empire Carpet?  They have next day installation and no payments/interest until 2007.  I can't get their damn jingle out of my head!

The wife and I are considering going with them.  My neighbors used them and they were very pleased with their service.

All I know is the phone number...588-2300 EMPIRE!  I don't know how many times I heard that commercial while living in Chicago :)

Empire is pretty good, but watch their measurements. I had measured my basement and had a pretty good idea what the square footage should be. (I was not 100% sure how they measured the stairs etc..., but it is not rocket science). When Empire came out and measured, their price was great, the timing was great, but he had about 100 sq.ft. more carpet than I measured, which brings the price up considerably. I had 2 more guys come out to measure, and their measurements were closer to mine, so the price although the same per sq ft, was much less. And I had to wait a couple weeks....

So, just be careful...

Thanks for the heads up.  I think we are going to have them come out next week.  I'll let you know how they do on their measurements.
