Will a GPWiz be able to handle this load? It would be the only "lit" device drawing power on that control panel, and will also have your spinner with an optiwiz, as well as a usb joystick...

I'll try to look through the trackball games and see how many I can find that this could work with. I know there is a shuffle board game where the puck changes color with each player.

No! Not a good idea.... Hook it to a PC drive cable power lead.

Actually, it all depends on what else is on the port. USB is rated at 500ma so *if* the only thing you have on that port is the trackball and maybe 1 other interface, you could even tap into the 5v going to the TB interface to run the light.
Keep in mind also that the 240ma is the figure for full-on, or white. If you are running it red or blue or even a combo for a different color, current requirements will be quite a bit less.
