Emulators page (see 'jukebox software')
« on: March 17, 2006, 05:21:15 am »
The Jukebox Software page is coming along nicely (thanks Drewkaree and Spacefractal!)

The basic ideas why the grid is chosen:
  • There are so many pieces of software worth mentioning, the page would be too long if each had its' own section.
  • Some jukebox software has more features or items worth mentioning than others, making individual articles for each software a good option.
  • A long list of sections makes it hard to compare and select the software you wish to learn more about. The grid shows key selection criteria for easy comparison.
See the article's Talk page how the page evolved. Note that the article is still filled with a lot of placeholders, but the basic framework is in place.

The same rules apply to the emulator software pages. I want to invite you to participate in the discussion started here to create a similar grid for the emulators article. It would be nice to set some sort of standard for these similar pages.

Comments and/or constructive criticism is welcomed!

I have made a example table in the discussion page for console emulators (http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Talk:Console_Emulators
).

What do you think?

This table have a much better overview, and for emulators, it should ONLY link to those, that are cabfriedly, and not other. Hince there are a lots other page, that doing that a lots better. Arcadecontrols is mare for cabs and not keyboard.

Decade Old Work: MultiFE, ArcadeMusicBox
Today Works: Various Spectrum Next games from Rusty Pixels and html5 games.

Nice start! I added my comments to the Console emulators talk page. We'll continue discussion there. Others: feel free to jump in!
