Just make sure they are not so old that the volume knob causes "static" noise. --- End quote --- Can't that usually be remedied by simply cleaning the pot? |

Bob Roberts sells shielded arcade speakers for $4 each, last time I checked. Here's some threads on my PC speaker hack... http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=16381.0 http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=20839.0 I decided to hack a pair of USB powered speakers. That way, I didn't need to plug in a separate power brick. Read the threads above for the whole saga. |

I wanted something that sounded fairly decent for the music I'm running on a jukebox program so I went with a creative 2.1 set that ran me $66 including shipping from buy.com.It's got a wired remote but I wasn't keen on its looks for mounting so I hacked into it and removed the on-off volume pot from the circuit board and extended it with longer wires and used a pot from mouser.com that was more suitable to mount . http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=4&subcategory=27&product=10327 |
