Thought I would take a chance due to the rarity if it was real.. I knew I should have requested a BIN on Ebay.. The guy phoned, sounded ok.. but turned out to be a thief.. Also lesson learned is to claim thru Paypal that item never arrived.. its all in the wording.. if you claim it was used, when sold as new, they will not refund..even though they have a specific claim stating this on website.. but if you claim you never got what was sold, they will refund.. so technically I never got what was sold and should have claimed differently than I did..will know for next time.. if there ever is a next time.. almost 10 years on Ebay and only the second time I have been ripped off by someone with no morals such as this so its not like its often..

Anyways, don't feel sorry for me.. I took a chance knowing full well how it could end up.... its not like the shroud is an absolute piece of junk..its alright, but not NOS..defintely used.. and not better than what I already had.. But I just want to point out to others avoid these guys. I would post a link to the old auction so everyone could see the specific wording of it, but it has vanished from my watched auction page.. I think they blocked me so I could not buy anything else and neg them and the saved auction got erased along with that.. because it should still show up...

People post old auctions on KLOV when others ask for a price check.. how do they get those lists? Is it a website that you can do that on?

Don't you still have the email stating you won the auction? That will have the auction number in there...

The guy pulled it.. the first time I thought 'cool..can get some pics and negotiate on this without outside bidders'.. then he pulled it that second time after he never got back to me, then re-started the auction with the new pictures I had asked for.. When he pulled it that time he said he did so because I was first sorta thing. No.. no way to get back at the guy thru Ebay or Paypal other than starting another ID. Trying to contact the police down there to at least file something on them.

I would make it a point not to deal with anyone on this forum whom doesn't have at least 2000 posts when it comes to trading or buying something.  Some one with that many post has established themselves here within the forums and their commitment would not in question.

Other members could vouch for a high post member.

That's ridiculous. There are many well-established, highly-respected individuals who have been here for a very long time, but have less than half that amount.

Not everyone posts like me....a guy that has only been here a year.

Not ridiculous.  What I am saying, these guys are complaining about dealing with people with less than a few dozen posts.  Personally, I wouldn't trade with any of the "bad traders" listed here simply because of their low posts.

If a single bad trade happens, odds are we're going to find out about it, so all it would take is a little research on the buyers part.

I would just feel way better with dealing with someone with some credit established than with a noob.

Nothing wrong with that, I just found the 2000 posts part extreme.

I would never buy from anyone without checking them out first, and even that doesn't protect you.

2000 posts? I would never make a trade here in that case. I've been an ADMIN on another forum for over 8 years, and I barely have over that many posts.

I already sold some sticks and buttons to Haruman, who got exactly what he paid for in a timely manner. Just bought 2 MVS carts from another user.

Post count amounts to NOTHING. Having 5000 posts doesn't mean you can be trusted any more than someone with 5 posts.

Take it easy there man.  Read what I wrote.  I would trust someone like Hoopz with over 1,800 posts before trusting someone like KSKID with a little over 100 posts.  Especially with $1,200 of my money.  Thats a huge sum of money to send someone.

Just using Hoopz as an example, the odds of him or her stiffing someone with 6 trade count and 1,800 posts is pretty remote.  Thats all I am saying.

The guy known as eastbayarb -or- ARB -or-  Antonio Botello sells bootleg MVS carts and refuses to give refunds.

BEWARE

I never refused to give you a refund. Show me an email that says I refuse to give you refund. Full refund given, and he can keep everything. But I still get a bad trader status. Go figure...

What eastbayarb says is true.  He was unable to respond to my emails and I left negative feedback in between time.

He has fully refunded my money and I trust he was unaware that the Metal Slug 3 MVS cart was a bootleg.  I learned of the counterfeit cart only after it was opened.  I will continue to do business with him if the opportunity arises.  His shipping was prompt and he negotiates prices reasonably.

Sorry for the misunderstanding Antonio,

Craig

Don't forget that I not only refunded his money, but I let him keep all the neo geo carts. so the buyer got everything free.

It just sucks because as long as the original post about me being a bad trader exists, anyone can search my name under bad trader and my name will come up.

Ebay seller: partitall

I bought a Golden Tee 2005 from this guy and it arrived non working.  I made every attempt to get the board working so that I didnt have to return the board but it was just dead.  I returned to board to the seller.  He has had the board for 2 weeks and didn't refund my money.  He then tells me that he doesnt know where the board is even though I have a delivery confirmation number that shows he has it.  Then finally he replies with this

"hey guy found box better put a claim in its all broken!this is not the way i gave it to you!is this why it didnt work because it was busted up? i would have put a claim in!!!! im sick of this crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I have made every attempt to be patient and work with this guy and now he pulling some ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- like this!  I returned the board in a well packaged large box unbroken.  So I find it hard to beleive that it is all broken now.  I am a reputable seller and buyer and this is just another LIAR and Thief that is out there to get someone.  PLEASE ADVOID BUYING FROM THIS SELLER.

Steve

Long story short:  In March he sees my Berzerk resto thread and offers me an original bat stick for it.  I say cool and pay him via paypal on 3/27/2009.  He's in Australia so the shipping will take a while.  Never got a stick.  Haven't heard from him since 5/24/2009.

I hate posting these but he never provided a tracking number and I am out nearly a hundred bucks.  Bad trader.

Don't forget to leave negative feedback on the SMF trader system too.  That helps other people see it and be aware of what happened.

I never said it was a bad idea, I just had a bad feeling every time you said, "It's not here yet." I would say, "Uh-oh, you got screwed" and you would continue to have confidence that it was coming. Then we'd talk a month later and I'd say, "So, how's that Berzerk stick?" and you'd say, "Still not here," and I'd go, "Uh-oh..."

Watch out for that Steve guy from Australia that Chad mentions.

His former e-mail address was: atari.fan@iinet.net.au

I have no 100% proof, but it looks he also used to be registered under "Dexter" on www.dragonslairfans.com
He has the same avatar there:

http://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?action=profile;u=46

Same first name, same age, same location, same avatar = too many "coincidences".

He seemed genuine enough on the Dragonslairfans forum, very active beginning 2009. I was looking for someone that could vectorize my Puckman CPO for reproduction. He took up the challenge and even also offered to do the Euro Joust marquee for me. There were some preview files posted and things looked to be very bright in the beginning.
So, since he was collecting all home version of DL and SA, I knew some Jaguar version for sale here and thought I would send them as an advanced "Thank You". Shipped them in May and he received the discs. Proof here:
http://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=628.msg6517#msg6517

All in all it cost me about 60 Euro's to buy and ship those games which seemed fair as a compensation for his hours put into the artwork.

Next, comms become more rare. Promises, promises and more promises, but no files. The Joust "was ready" but I never received the ready file when I asked him to mail it.

Then in august he posts that he would like to know how much his collection of SA and DL home versions is worth.
http://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=913.msg7887#msg7887
I'm appalled because I send him the Jaguar versions in may, and now in august he wants to sell the complete collection, before I even got the artwork ? So responds that he was "checking the water".....yeah, right.

Next comes up this thread, another guy (from Australia) also screwed by a certain Steve from Australia (ding-ding!):
http://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=1007.0

I heard some things. One moment he was moving house but he had left behind his PC and the files were on it some thousands miles away. Who moves house and doesn't move their PC ?
Next I hear he's recently been divorced, but from the OP of the last mentioned thread I hear through e-mail he has been divorced several years ago.

Anyway, it could be just a sad story, but just beware of him !

Here's a pic of the guy:

He's hasn't been posting to the Dragonslairforum, but his last login was on October 01, 2009, 11:52:59 AM

dirtcheaptrading from ebay.  Bought from him twice.  First time he sent the wrong leds for the push buttons.  Thought it was just a simple mistake.  This time he sent the wrong button!  I asked for blue and green in two different emails, he sends me red and green.  This is not baseball, but two strikes and you're out

Randy at Groovy Game Gear stole my money.  Plain and simple.

I ordered a part and it was returned to Randy because of a bad address.
He has since kept my money and refuses to reply to my numerous emails.
Even a credit card charge back has not motivated him to respond.

The transaction was December 23, 2013, plenty of time for Randy to step up.

I hate to throw a member like Randy under the bus, but he has stolen from me, and his lack of response is very unprofessional.

I would recommend steering clear of him and his site.

I don't even know who you are or what the situation is.  If a chargeback was issued, and we did not dispute it, then the matter should be resolved, and I'm not sure how you are out any money.  If that is the case, we ended up losing the shipping fees due to a customer provided improper address

All of that being said, I would be more than happy to be given the opportunity to investigate the situation and make it right.  But I need to know what the actual situation is before I can do so.  If for some reason it is a matter of your emails not making it to me (which is entirely possible, given the number of spam blockers in use on the internet now), then PM me here and we will take care of it.  We do not take money from people.  It's not who we are.

Careful digitalmonkeyman, the last member who vocalized his displeasure with GGG wound up with a temporary ban...

No need for any of that.  If it's a simple misunderstanding or communication breakdown, it's easily taken care of.  But without information as how to proceed, it's hard to know what happened.

I'm a member of another forum and we caught wind of the GGG drama. I had the same problem you had. These guys have gone south on us. Ladies and Gents, stay away from them.
