I've clicked the properties on both shortcuts and selected 'maximised' but the desktop appears and mamewah doesn't start after I start the pc. Here's a summary of the problems I'm trying to solve: 1> mamewah will not start automatically. I've been unable to hide the desktop. 2> games load then disappear with Mamewah causing my pc to lock/crash. 3> there is colour bleeding. An example is the snk logo. I start an mvs game, the neo geo pro gear spec screen appears, the graphics are sharp but blue extends out of the snk letters. This bleeding occurs in games too, often with red. 4> Some games wobble at the 'type ok' screen, like the vertical hold should be adjusted. thanks --- End quote --- 1)If you click on the Start tab on your desktop, and click "All Programs", you should have a "Startup" folder. Put the shortcut in there. 2)Do you have Safelaunch flagged in your mame.ini within mamewah? Check JCrouse's site for correct .ini's for any emulator. 3)I don't think the color bleeding has anything to do with mamewah 4)Sounds like a resolution issue Have you posted these questions at www.mameworld.info? |

Sounds like you're using a TV with composite video or a bad monitor. --- Quote ---4> Some games wobble at the 'type ok' screen, like the vertical hold should be adjusted. thanks --- End quote --- In that case your v-hold probably does need to be adjusted. |

Hello, thanks mccoy178 for the excellent help. I've solved all except problem 3 (colour bleeding). The wobbling was a resolution problem. I used the avga res. tool to change them from 50+HZ TO 60HZ. About the colour bleeding, I don't know the model of the monitor, I own jamma games and the display is excellent on all without colour bleeding. It's a 29'' super ls sound cab. I decided to pause a game and try to adjust the pot's and the bleeding stopped without any adjusting. Pressing 'P' to pause a game removed all of the 'bleeding'. The screen was darker but the image was very sharp and I preferred the colours. When a game is running - colours are too bright. Perhaps I could use this resolution. Any ideas? |

You can adjust the brightness in your mame.ini You can adjust brightness in your videocard settings. You should have a pot for the monitor to adjust the brightness/voltage. The last one is probably the best way to go. The voltage to your monitor may be a little high. |

Are you using a video amp with your AVGA? If so, stop using it. It sounds to me like your PC is outputting a higher level video signal than your PCB's. This will cause very bright image & bleeding, probably at the edges. |
