Hello, I installed Mamewah, there were problems (regsvr32.exe and paintx.dll) but I can run games using it.
Games look blurry and often the screen will lock after I load a game.
I often use Mame32 which with some adjustments produces an excellent display. But there is colour bleeding and sometimes a game is too dark.

I want to avoid the desktop and to enter mamewah immediately. How can I do so?
Also, can anybody recommend a resolution tool?

                                          THANKS

I can't help with the first problem, but if you want to boot straight into Mamewah, just put a shortcut into the startup folder located in the "All Programs" menu in the Start tab.  You can also customize your splash screen on start up.  There is a tutorial around here for that.  Just do a search.

Did you download and install the system.zip before installing mamewah?.

There is a res tool available at the Mamewah homepage.

What type of monitor and other hardware are you using?. Blurriness and color bleeding could well be related to the hardware/monitor rather than your mamewah config.

You can change many of the video settings and brightness etc in the mame.ini in your mame folder.

Either use the method Mccoy suggested or turn hibernate on (Start/Control Panel/Power Options) and set your PC to hibernate whenever it is shut down. When you shutdown from Mamewah windows will save its state and automatically boot straight back to Mamewah when it starts back up, bypassing the desktop completely, bear in mind though that using this method you won't be able to use things like a startup movie.

Hi, yes I tried to install the system files but there is an error relating to regsvr32.exe and paintx.dll. I've read that others have encountered this problem.
I downloaded a regsvr32.exe file and tried to install it, unsuccessfully.
I searched for paintx.dll on my p.c. but it was not there.

I'm using a super ls sound 25-29 cab. I don't know the monitor model.
The bleeding occurs with mame32 not mamewah. With Mamewah graphics are blurry - like running a PAL console. :'(

I am not much for help as I have not seen this exact issue but here are some links on the files you referred to:

Now, the only question I have is are you using XP? If so, have you used any XP removal software that "lightens" the system. (Example is XPlight and so forth)
