Krick is 100% correct. The DDR spec is the same, regardless of speed. You can put in some PC3200 in that motherboard and it will simply run at PC2100 if that is the only speed the motherboard supports. I've personally put PC3200 in an A7N motherboard, and it works just fine. --- End quote --- It is possible that a motherboard bios will refuse to use faster memory if it insists on the SPD settings telling it what to do. A lot of fast memory only has SPD info for DDR400 settings. Of course, I'd assume that an ASUS bios wouldn't do something dumb like that. PC Chips or Shuttle on the other hand... |
