PowerMAME 104.1.0 is availalble
« on: March 02, 2006, 08:19:44 pm »
PowerMAME 0.104.1.0 is on the website.  I'm going to forego the beta testing this time.  I don't want to sit on it anymore, it is probably getting close to 0.105.

I updated the Wiki to match the changes (well, just moved some info around).

Naturally, the wiki had to get messed up today. My host says they don't have a working backup of the sidebar too. Frell and frack!

At least the release notes on www.unappliedbraincells.com have direct links to the items that were on the sidebar.

I wish I could access it.  The internet police won't let me go to the site from work.

Thanks.  Kill away.  I don't see how they are discouraging derivative builds.  If they didn't give me permission, I still would have gone ahead.  I would have just called it PowerM@ME or something obvious.  Also, what is he talking about it already killing buddamame?

Or why - other than it makes more work for them to keep up with, but if they would incorporate the changes, we wouldn't need to . . .

Yeah, I don't get that either - other than the CYA stuff.  I mean if you added support for 2005 games based on the MAME core and called it NewGameM#ME - I guess they can claim they weren't involved, but I'm not sure how it would hold up.

I didn't get that either.  What he said was "Besides, I took Buddabing's changes in u3, so I already killed off one derivative build this dev cycle."

I had a look-sie at the 104u3 whatsnew and came up with:

New option -mngwrite, which records an MNG movie of the game from
the get-go and allows you to specify a target filename. [Buddabing]

So either Aaron thinks that that was the ONLY thing BuddaMAME added, so it will go away now that that feature is in the main MAME source, or he knows better and is saying that to make RB think it is going away.

I find either option a little hard to believe, but anyhoo!!!
