New Guy on Team
« on: February 28, 2006, 10:00:03 pm »
Hi All,

I've got a new guy starting with PowerMAME today.  He's a developer and has some game engine experience.  He's looking into adding Raw Input support for multi-mouse support.  Hopefully we can get some help from u_rebelscum either in the form of consultation or programming.  Either would be a great asset.  So as soon as the new guy gets an account setup here, you can all welcome him and start telling him what he need to do.  :)

We also have a distributed development server setup running Perforce.  I have a 2 seat license and will be getting more as we need them.   Interested developers please contact me.  Perforce is very easy to use.  It has a little bit of a learning curve but if your not doing the branching and mainline merging, it is fairly easy to use.

Later,

Mike

Wow great news! And straight in at the deep end too....

I'm sure uRebelscum can give some pointers - or take a look at the old analog+builds (or possibly even current builds of advancemame).

Anyway - welcome him aboard... The more the merrier!

Thanks again fellas!  I wish I had access to the cabinet I built with all the toys on it.  :'(  There are many of us out here that really really appreciate this effort.

I just read here:

http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=66930&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1

that one of the mame devs (Derrick Renaud) has been working on adding rawmouse to the main mame build...

Might be worth hooking up to avoid duplicating work...

EDIT: Woops - just noticed that Mikeq had already noticed this and posted on the same forum.

Well, that didn't last long.  The new guy quit this morning.  He's addicted to Everquest and World of War Craft and can't find the time.  I'm thinking of posting his phone number on here so you can all give him a load of crap.  Or maybe we need to have an intervention and get him into gamers anonymous.

Heh. Typical. That's the number one reason that I don't play anything beyond arcade games anymore... they take too much time... and sometimes it's hard to stay away. Arcade games: Dead in 10 minutes.

Wow, I am sorry about that. Yeah, intervention sounds good. I just need a towel with a bar of soap wrapped inside.  Saw it in Full Metal Jacket. Seemed to work for them... sort of.

That is exactly why I love my arcade machine and why I don't own an XBOX 360.   Galaga I last 20 minutes tops.

Heh.  I saw it happen to a guy in in the bunk next to mine.  Trust me, it works....

Luckily, all I got was a pile pf shaving cream on the side of my head and in my boots while I was sleeping.  They weren't upset with me, just thought it would be funny.
