Driver Cab Controls...???
Taborious:
I'm going to be starting my second cab soon. It's going to look like your basic UAII but the top half will rotate around and the backside will have a seat for driving/flying games. I have been looking at happs for driving controls but they are VERY expensive. I was wondering if there was a better place to get driving/yoke controls & pedals/shifters, any ideas???
Below is a quick jpg of the unfinished design but you get the idea...
PoDunkMoFo:
What kind of controls?
360, 270, Analog?
For analog you could just go with a regular steering wheel CompUSA Bestbuy etc.
360 is basically the same as a spinner except for it has a steering wheel attached. Obviously needs to be beefier than a spinner considering the forces and leverage involved. You could make your own 360 with some bearings and a hacked mouse.
Otherwise EBay is always an option but shipping on items such as that usually kill you.

I guess I'm looking for 360 but I have a 5 & 6 year old so I want to make sure it's sturdy. I'm looking for something a little stronger that what I can get at bestbuy or compusa but I hate the prices at happs, so expensive and I know they will get me on shipping as well...
As for analog I'm not really sure this is my first dive into the driver pond so I'm not sure what exactly I should be looking at or what options I have...

This is really random, but I just thought I'd mention how cool it would be to use the Steel Batallion controller for a pc game, or any game, I wonder if that is convertable and what system it is for?
Taborious:
I don't know Steel Batallion so I'll have to look it up.
So far not many suggestions so I may be doomed to work with Happs... >:(
