Mounting Back Angle Section.. Please help
« on: February 20, 2006, 12:45:38 am »
The section describes drawing a line 3/4 from cabinet edge parallel to the angled sections. Then flush the top of the mounting strips to this line.

My question is shouldn't it be 1&1/2 inch so that when you lay the 3/4 panel in place and it will still be recessed 3/4??

Sorry to be so confusing! I guess what I'm asking is flush or recessed???

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Well, you're right. As instructed, that leaves the panel flush with the edges of the cabinet, not recessed 3/4".  I have the back angled section recessed 3/4" ...

* saint adds it to the typo list.

Good catch!

Thank you Saint! I stayed up scratching my head over this one :)...(NOt the first time) I test fitted the angled section with the top back panel and it looks like everything is going to go together sweet!  :)

I knew something was wrong, but assumed it to be another line that I measured incorrectly.  Mine wound up flush to the back of the cabinet...but as it's on the back, I wasn't going to rip it apart to start over again (had gone too far by that point...support pieces glued in, etc).

Still, though - looks good...and definitely impresses the people who see it!
