I can appreciate that.  I just don't have anything to compare the auction I'm attending to.  The one I'm going to is a bankruptcy auction.  I have a feeling yours isn't?  It's maybe an industry-specific gathering?  I'm just curious about it.

How do you find arcade auctions in your area?  I'm near Boston, and Google, "arcade" with "auction", and get a bunch of spam.  How did you hear about this one in Atlanta?

Super Auctions comes about once a quarter. I started going about a half year ago. It is pure crazyness. Usually about 200-400 machines in varying condition and usually about 50-100 pinballs. Ususally they will have a few slots, pool tables, and jukeboxes as well.

Check out their site...
http://www.superauctions.com/dates.html
(No I am not affiliated to them in any way) I just had a great time each time I went. Here is the thread from the last auction. There are some pictures.

You gotta be careful buying these things as you yourself might be the recipiant of a bankruptcy auction. It seems like all my extra cash is getting sunk into this stuff. But I can quit at any time. ;)

Next Saturday (the 25th)
ATLANTA, GA.
LAKEWOOD EXHIBITION CENTER
2000 LAKEWOOD WAY, ATLANTA, GA.
PREVIEW 8-10AM, AUCTION STARTS AT 10:15AM

I found that I like to get there when the doors open. You can get games plugged in and played much easier when there is less people. When the hordes come in, too many games get plugged in and they start blowin circuits left and right. You finally get a game running and the screen goes dark. Dooop!

They usually do a pretty good job of starting on time. Most of the time they have tables set up by local merchants. There is an asian guy that usually has Kortek monitors (19in) for about 160-170.

Bring the longest extension cord you can find. I bring a circuit tester as well so I can see if I have juice or not.

Sounds good. I will definitely try to make it out there. There is no way I can fit another cab inside my house, but maybe I will find something interesting.

When they were here the last time they mentioned that the place they were at was sold and they would be looking for another venue. I emailed them about 2 weeks ago. Here is the e-mail.

We definitely will be in the Atlanta are, but currently have not yet
scheduled a new date.  You will receive a mailer from us once we have
rescheduled a new location. You can check our website from time to time
for auction updates also.  Thank you for your inquiry.

Hey there,
When you were here last time the auctioneer said that the place we were
at would no longer be used after this coming Feb 25th auction. He said
check the schedule and see where it would be next. I am not seeing any
posts about any new Atlanta dates. I am not freaking out, but I love
these things and am hoping you will still be coming back to Atlanta. Any

word on new venues?

I met TravisT there last time. He said I will be the big guy with red hair. I asked like 5 or 6 poeple till I actually found him. I didn't so much mind it was just a little awkward after the first few folks. Can we meet up at a set time?

I called and asked for permission on behalf of BYOAC - sorry if that was out of line. Usually I never got in trouble with taking pictures until a lot of people showed up. When I asked why they usually did not allow photos, she said it was because they had 2 situations that made the rule necessary. The first, a man was caught taking "too many" pictures of an atendees young daughter. The second, a man had his photo taken (unknowingly) and he was there with a girlfriend. Somehow his wife found the pictures.

So... Procede with caution and ONLY take pictures of the machines. They may ask you to stop taking pictures though.
