Happ Trackball Vs. Optipac
« on: February 15, 2006, 05:20:34 pm »
Has anyone compared the function of a happ trackball with an optipac or the Happ trackball with USB/PS2 interface.  I hear some people have problems with sensitivity with trackballs, exp. with Golden Tee.  So is the built in interface of the Happ USB trackball the same as an optipac?

So basically is

the same as

I think the jury is still out, but my opinion, based on my results, is that the optipac version will hold up better with use.  I've had two of the usb ones go bad out of four, and my original opti pac one has had the heck beat out of it and it is fine.

mccoy- you got me worried now. A few questions for you...

How did you notice they were going out, were they just not responsive anymore?

What about using the serial port connector instead of the USB, do you think that will make a difference?

Markrvp would be another good source to ask.  He and another member got together and tested a couple different versions of the Happs.  Do a search for it.  Also, I think it is the boards not catching the first spins because they are at too high of a rate of speed.  I do know that in my case, they just got progressively worse until they were unusable for GT and any other super fast spinning games.
