LOL very similar here! ;)

Save states to advance and see what is coming up.

You have not beaten a game until you can complete it under true arcade rules.

I don't like saving or pausing, but I still do use pause if I'm only going to be gone for a couple of minutes, even that is like cheating though.  Otherwise, I just restart.  Repeated saving is like having an infinite number of lives, anyone can beat the game like that.  All it takes is time.  Winning isn't as sweet. 8)

I suppose your right - it doesn't have the same original feel. But then again, not worrying about the quarters also takes away from the authenticity... When I used to play video games I would take hard earned (or hard given) money and play a game. My mom would give me $1 and I had to make it last all night (all night being 3 games of bowling). So... I don't have the same risk factor and worrying about dying on an early level in pengo and lessening my chances of a highscore.

I'll say this, after using the save state and going way further in the game then I probably ever could.... my desire to play the game has been reduced. I won't use it again I think.

All the games I try to use save states in say that they aren't supported. (I am using v112)

I understand that the developers aren't really supporting save states, and that the user community has to develop the code.

I am not a developer, so I was wondering if there are any resources on the net for save state support. I am specifically looking for support for CPS2.

Thanks,

Steve
