3" vs 2" Casters
AMDman13:
I'm thinking of going with 3" Casters on my "Project Arcade". I figured this way I wouldn't have to place a piece of scrap wood under the 2" caster. My only fear is that it won't be recessed enough. Anybody out there tried this? Or have any thoughts?
Thank you in advance!
ChicagoDave:
I used 3" casters on my "project arcade" and they came out perfect.

If your planning on keeping your cab on carpet, then 3'' rollers will probably be perfect. If your keeping it on wood, tile, or something similar, then it might be a little high, but I doubt anyone would notice. I used 2 1/2'' casters and they're not quite high enough, they do pretty much nothing on carpet and the bottom often scraps when its rolling on concrete/wood/tile. Since I don't move my cab, they work fine for me.
RTSDaddy2:
I'll second ChicagoDave's comment...not a single problem here either with the 3" casters.

Hey thanks guys! I plan to begin the actual construction this weekend.... ie Base and routing for T-Molding (this outa be interesting ???...) If time permits I will at least attatch one of the sides.
I wish that I could say things have been going smooth, but my Old Man the wood working expert. Decided to attempt a circlular saw on the front angle side of one of the side panels. Needless to say he was about an inch off to the inside of the line :o.. So I've spent every night this week patching and sanding. >:(
Thanks for the info guys!
PS.. I love your cab AtomSmasher! I hope you don't mind if I copy your CP??
