I have some of the Dark Blue buttons and ball top.  They look good but they are really more of a Violet/Dark Purple color than they are blue.

Oh yeah and I bet people would be interested in some of those mesh styled red and green ball tops.  I know they stoped making them but if you could get some I bet people would want them.

( http://www.himuragames.com/store_joysticks.php  )  are these superior to Happs as far as feel and construction or is it just a matter of preference?  I've never used any of their joysticks or buttons AFAIK but I do like some of the colors.   The restrictor plates on these are 8-way and they don't rotate right?  sorry for the noob questions  ;D

Sanwa sticks and buttons feel totally different to Happ gear.  The sticks have VERY loose springs, which throws some people when they first play it.  After you play fighters or shmups on Japanese sticks for a while, you start to understand why they are designed that way.  For me, I have trouble going back to Happ sticks now for my fighters after having used predominantly Asian-style gear for the last 12 months.

If you ever find an arcade with a some "Candy" cabs in it, have a play on one of the machines and see for yourself the difference.  There are some older games that just suck with these sticks (I still like my Happ sticks for older 80's games), but anything released in the last 5 years or so feels great.

Each to their own really.  Stick preference is something that differs wildly from person to person.

Forgive the tangent . . .

Does anyone know the thread size of the Sanwa Knobs?

I would like to change the color of a couple Sega Analog Sticks ...

I don't know the thread size. But I do know that most of the Japanese style joysticks (including Seimitsu and Sanwa) have ball tops that are interchangeable.

Can you tell me where you bought the Sega analogue sticks?

They came off a NOS Sega Naomi System World Series '99 Control Panel I bought on E-Bay.
