( http://www.himuragames.com/store_joysticks.php ) are these superior to Happs as far as feel and construction or is it just a matter of preference? I've never used any of their joysticks or buttons AFAIK but I do like some of the colors. The restrictor plates on these are 8-way and they don't rotate right? sorry for the noob questions ;D

im in the other boat. ive only USED sanwa! i can say that they are really top quality in build and quite inexpensive. they use standard micro-switches and the restrictor plate can be rotated from 8 way to 4 way, but only by loosening 4 screws underneath. i have them in my cocktail cab which has the cp's open underneath so sometimes when i wanted to play pacman properly id get underneath and rotate it. takes maybe 2 minutes. i have a plan in my mind to have servos do it for me (this will compliment my rotating monitor :))

I'd say PINK and GREEN would be the most popular among candy cabinet owners but probably not as popular among every one else. The next most popular colors would be RED, WHITE, YELLOW, ORANGE, and BLUE. BLACK will be a semi popular color for the ball tops as well. If you stock these you should consider stocking the GT-Y Octagonal restrictor plates.
Grasshopper:
Definitely red and dark blue (The light blue doesn't look very good IMHO). And translucent in a variety of colours including clear.
It would also be nice if you could sell the ball tops separately for people who cannot make up their mind which colour they prefer.

Forgive the tangent . . .
Does anyone know the thread size of the Sanwa Knobs?
I would like to change the color of a couple Sega Analog Sticks ...

I don't know the thread size. But I do know that most of the Japanese style joysticks (including Seimitsu and Sanwa) have ball tops that are interchangeable.
Can you tell me where you bought the Sega analogue sticks?
ponyboy:
I will keep stock on the ball tops so people can order different colors if needed.
Also, translucent.
