Why is the top so white? Is there supposed to be a veneer or is that what it should look like?

Going by this photo it looks ok!
Still prefer my Aussie LAI version...CP looks heaps better..and Its 19 inch.
I think this is the official Nintendo release which will be more valuable restored original!

yes, this is EXACTLY the same cab that i sometimes play in a shopping centre near my work. the plate on the side says nintendo. same legs. looks like exactly the same joy as well. only the one i play on has a bootleg 4 in 1 on it and looks a bit beat up...
keep us posted and if you put pics on a web page let us know. i'm compiling an ever growing list of jap/aussie style cocktail cabs on my site...

oh, and i think the white top will look quite cool. refreshing (",)

thanks for the kind words...what happened w/this cocktail was a trade. For my almost completly restored Popeye. I'm guessing the board is not working...this will take some time.

Most important item, finding the right monitor...I'm looking for ideas, help!!!

thanks,

At least you got the glass.  That was the single most expensive part of my DK cocktail restoration.  Mine did have the monitor though, so who knows how much that will run ya.  Looks like a good project.  Congratz.  ;D

11 years later....almost done.   This is what happens with kids :)

New caps everywhere.  Original speaker is ripped/not working.  Replacement of speaker and this should be completed.  I know Mike's arcade has these but....the original has a plug I've never seen before.

Thanks.  It was put into a dark corner for too long :)

Just need to figure out how to replace the speaker w/the odd looking connector.
