Mamewah As Frontend - Have I Cocked Up!
(1/3) > >>
M.A.M.E Power:
Ok have been configuring my PC for use in my cabinet, have done everything now - the last thing to do was set Mamewah as the shell.

Set it as the shell and works fine - but i cannot access windows now through that user account.

I can still access all i need through the admin account, was just wondering if it is normally done this way (i.e two accounts).

I guess it would be useful to be able to gain access to windows via the mamewah user account.

I await your knowledge!

I don't think I understand what you did here.  When I set up my PC, the initial user account created had admin rights.  That is the only account needed.

I installed MameWAH and set up it.  Just drag and drop the MameWAH.exe into your startup folder.  Set XP to auto-login for you, and voila!  Every time your PC comes on, it will log itself in and launch mamewah.

That is the point of a shell.  To allow you to do all the "windows" stuff.

Changing your shell to MAMEWAH means you chose to run MAMEWAH only.

However, there should be a way out. Directions may differ due to OS.

1. Alt-Ctl-Del
2. Task Manager
3. File -> Run
4. Type explorer

I "think" MAMEWAH has this ability to app_to_run_on_exit.  If you put explorer in there, when you exit MAMEWAH this should run.

I can do all the windows stuff.  I just hit ESC when in Mamewah and it takes me back to windows.

You also aren't running MAMEWAH as your shell.

You are running it like any other application which you are right it works just fine.
