Howdy, I have a few basic questions since I'm new to setting up Mame. I know that I need the highscores.dat file for Mame to save high scores on most games. So, where do I get highscores.dat and how do I use it? Also, does Mame save the settings somewhere when I change the button layout by pressing <tab> and going ot Current Game Settings... Or do I have to change them back every time I play a game? Also I'm running on a P3 1Ghz so I'm trying Mamewah. I know there's some way to have Mamewah display the controls for each game on the screen while I'm scrolling through the list. How do I do this? I think that's all for now. Thanks for the help! |

Search for hiscore.dat --- Quote from: kelemvor on January 29, 2006, 10:57:45 pm ---Also, does Mame save the settings somewhere when I change the button layout by pressing <tab> and going ot Current Game Settings... It saves it as GAMENAME.CFG inside your cfg folder. --- Quote from: kelemvor on January 29, 2006, 10:57:45 pm ---Also I'm running on a P3 1Ghz so I'm trying Mamewah. I've seen them both mentioned. --- Quote from: Thenasty on January 30, 2006, 07:33:31 am --- Maybe Minwah will help on this one, at this moment, I am using a diff FE. --- End quote --- I'm open to using different FEs but on a P3 !ghz some seem slow. I tried GameEX and it looked so inredibly sluggish I could hardly get it to respond to me. MameWah seems less graphic intensive so it runs fine. If there others that can do that on a slower system, feel free to give me some other tips. |
