Oh Dear Oh Dear, The reason for posting is because it was a cheap deal and I thought I would share my thoughts with this community to try to give something back. OK. Joysticks and buttons arrived yesterday. Buttons as expected. Nothing spectacular. A button is a button. Joysticks do not feel very robost. They are cheap copies and the stick wobbles a little if you shake the joystick. One of the joysticks had not been built correctly as only 2 of the microswitches clicked when I moved the joystick. I removed the restrictor plate (it is only 8 way as it is a circular cutout in the middle ). Basically the lock nut on the end if the stick was not tight enough and the metal flap above the microswitch on the 2 non-working switches was bent down a little. Easy enough to put right but disappointing as you should not have to do this with new stuff. I guess you get what you pay for in the end. Not been able to test the stick in anger as my cab is not up and running. Overall not very pleased with the quality of the joysticks. I basically paid |

Sorry bout that, but you gotta admit, it was more than somewhat fishy. Maybe inky is the guy. Who knows, well welcome to BYOAC, what a fun start you have already had. As for buttons and joysticks, there are a lot of options and a lot of preferences out there, but almost 100% people regret it when they buy these knock off joysticks and buttons. I was in the same boat, found all the joysticks and buttons i needed for $20, bought them and never did anything with them cuz they sucked so much. So what kind of games are you planning on playing the most? For a general MAME cab, Id say you cant beat Happ Competition joysticks and buttons, they are the industry standard. For a more classic feel you could get leaf switch joysticks and buttons, or there are Sanwas if you want the japanese experience. Good luck on your project. |

Sorry for doubting you Muzland. I hate that you got substandard equipment. There ARE reputable sellers on this site. Please note their post count next time. A good rule of thumb is to not buy something from someone with less than 50 posts. |
