I don't know alot about the guns, but I just want to make sure you calibrated them using the led bars. also I have a question, when I use the lightguns, I get an effect where wherever i move the guns aim, the crosshairs in that game move that way farther, like it's only on aim in the center of the screen, is there any remedy for this? |

struby, you'll wanna use the games internal calibration. for most games you can do this by hitting 'tab' after starting the game and going into the dip switches menu. from there enable service mode and back out of the menus. from my brief experience with this, some games will automatically go into service mode and some games you will have to restart. when you get into service mode there should be an option for gun calibration. for most of the games i've messed with you navigate the menus with the 1p start and 2p start buttons. follow the games calibration steps and this should solve the problem. hope this helps. I just got my gun and can't get the dam thing to work. It 'sees' the screen correctly ie. laser lights when in screen area and goes off when out of screen area. I have tried the EMS 3.2 drivers first then the latest Smog guncon drivers. Same thing with both - they show button activity and where the mouse cursor is in windows it will register a left or right click correctly - but never actually moves the pointer anywhere. I am running XP pro sp2. Any ideas ? |

Most things I have read said installing the EMS drivers first would mess up Smog's drivers. Almost all recomondations say to go with Smog's first. |

I uninstalled them and manually uninstalled from device manger. Then when connecting the gun it did ask for the driver and pointed it to the smog stuff. If I check in device manager it shows the correct driver. So I think that is all OK. When installing smog's it asked for a HID compliant driver after the guncon driver installed. Which makes sense although the connection between the gun driver and the mouse driver seems to be what is the problem - although the button click register as correct mouse clicks so its kinda wierd only mouse movement is not working. |
