Well get this... I have a laptop too. So I copy my MAME .106 folder to my laptop. Keeping everything in tact as it is on the PC and the damn thing plays PERFECT gun just works!. SO this tells me it has nothing to do with MAME at all. My mame settings are correct where they stand. The issue is this.. When I load game in mame my mouse cursor disappears on the desktop and boom its in game and my gun is emulating the mouse. HOWEVER at this point my touch pad mouse does not work. so the gun has overridden it. On the desktop the REAL mouse is overriding the gun. I unplugged the real mouse and had the gun emulate the mouse alone. Still no results. Somewhere there is a conflict in windows not mame.. |

Mame now sees each mouse, lightgun, touchpad, and other mouse devices separately. This means the default mapping is that "player 1" uses "mouse 1", "player 2" uses "mouse 2", etc. If the gun is "mouse 4", you have to map mame's "player 1 lightgun" to "mouse 4". Plugging in and unplugging can renumber the mice (which is done by windows, and it might be that you laptop has the gun as "mouse 1" while your desktop has your gun as, say, "mouse 3"). If you already remapped the lightgun axes as linked and it doesn't work, sorry I missed you saying that you tried. (Add yes, the remapping needs to be done the same with the LCD gun.) |

Hey your post is phenomenal. And EXACTLY what I was trying to get at. With your help I got it working. Now the next dilemma is getting it calibrated properly in the game.... |
