Neo-Geo question.
« on: January 03, 2006, 03:40:43 pm »
I'm the proud new owner of a MVS-4-25 Version 1 and I had a question about the CPO.  Is this supposed to be backprinted adhesive vinyl or what?  Seeing as how I haven't seen a Neo-Geo system in years I don't really have anything to compare it to.  This seems to be a thin plastic that's bolted to the metal CP.  It's starting to warp and raise off the metal and the bolts holding it in place are pretty rusty.  Just wondering if this is how they are supposed to be since I'll probably be looking for a replacement sometime soon in the future.  Thanks.

It's a good resource, but he really doesn't go into detail on things like that.  The only project he has is converting another cabinet into a Neo-Geo where it looks like he used a self adhesive CPO.  I have the kind with the credit LEDs, so I wasn't sure what kind it was.  What I have is probably factory, so I'll start looking around for a repro.

The CPO on my MVS-2-25 is same as yours.

Cheers.

Thanks for the verification CheffoJeffo.  I think I'll try taking mine off and cleaning it up.  Maybe when I put it back on it won't be warped so much.

So far the only repro I have found is S/A vinyl and requires a cutout over the credit counters ... if I come across something better, I'll let you know.

Cheers.

I think I've seen some on eBay, but they may be NOS instead of repros.  Thanks for keeping your eyes out for me, if you're looking for another I'll do the same.
