Any interest in coin doors?
« on: December 29, 2005, 08:20:43 pm »
I just got a new job as a tech, and the business I work for throws away 3-4 games per week. I have been salvaging what I can in order to sell them.

Needless to say, I will have a lot of coin doors (mostly complete with cashbox cage and cashbox) as time goes by. Before I put them up for a Dutch Auction on eBay, I want to gauge interest here and perhaps sell a few to the BYOAC faithful.

Right now, I have two over/under coin doors but more will be coming. If anyone wants me to earmark one for them, please let me know.

As for price... I don't know. Make a fair offer and we'll work from there. Just keep in mind that shipping will probably be ~20.00 to the U.S. and Canada due to the added weight of the cage and cashbox.

Thanks

APf

Crikey!  I'm a tech with a shop, and that's a ton of stuff to be tossing! Where are you located?

I'm afraid I won't say. But I WILL say what I have salvaged in the week and a half I have worked there.

2 coin doors (more than a few waiting to be taken)
A 33" Showcase Cabinet (MINE!!)
two Virtua Racing boardsets, plus marquees (Working)
two billheads with stackers (WORKING!)
AND... I am going to have 3 Namco System Super 22 boardsets in the cage tomorrow from two Alpine Racing 2s and an Alpine Surfer. If I had the room, I'd take the cabinets, but alas.

I talked to the owner, and he is going to set aside the "junk" equipment for me to strip and sell instead of just crush and dump. Anything of interest to the homebrew arcade community will come here first.

Thanks

Hey APf,

I'm interested, but I'm not sure that the one I need is very common.  It's a mini over-under. Below is a pic.

The door (including frame) is about 16" tall and 9.3" wide.   If you run across one of these, I'm interested because my cocktail cab was pre-cut for this door but there's no way I can drop the kind of bank that Happs wants for it.  So, right now, my cab just has a big hole in the side.

Thanks

Gimme a state at the very least.  Some stuff is easier picked up than shipped.  PM me if you don't want to say in-thread.  I can keep a secret.

Edit: NM, figured it out.  You're very, VERY far away.

I'm looking for a pinball coin door plus some .984" token mechs.

The door hole in my pinball machine is 12
I have changed my nickname to "Cakemeister". Please do not PM the Buddabing account because I do not check it anymore.

Quarterback- I am familiar with that style of over/under door, but unfortunately the stuff that gets tossed is from the laye 1980s or mid 1990s... and that is a newer style over/under FAIK.

Budda- The .954s I can get, but I'll have to troll the parts room for pinball doors. I'll look around on Monday.

That's what I was afraid of.  Oh well, if you happen to see one, think of me! :)

I am definently interested in 2 sets of matching 2 player coin doors though i have very little room in terms of depth.  when i built my cab it was designed more for console systems but i'd like to finish the cabinet and add some coin doors to work with mame.  I would like to see some pics and dimensions of what you have.

Oh boy... Been busy with the PMs, haven't been keeping up with the thread.

All I have right now are over/unders. If that changes, I'll post to this thread.

Coors- I have a coin bucket and a ton of mechs... I believe that the VS cab use a standard bucket and mechs.

I'll post some pics tomorrow and those who want to grab a coin door are welcome to.

i could use a set of coin bezels, buttons, and chute flaps. basically what i would need to fill the holes in this door besides the locks.
